Please join the Oregon Winegrowers Association and the Oregon Farm Bureau for a timely and informative forum on immigration policy and enforcement. The forum is limited to members of these associations. Come hear about your options to secure a labor force, actions the new administration is taking regarding enforcement on agricultural workers and companies, and the key information you need to know to deal with the immigration issue.

 - Hear from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials about their mission and focus, current policies and enforcement priorities, and important guidance of interest to employers. Note: ICE will not provide individual case advice, speculate on hypothetical scenarios, or share information on future operations.

 - The U.S. Customs and Immigration Services will provide an overview of relevant immigration laws, including rules around seasonal visas and responsibilities of employers to workers who are legal permanent residents. USCIS will also discuss scams that are currently observed, so employers can safeguard their workforces.

-An experienced attorney will provide insights into the current state of affairs and offer guidance for employers.

Tim Bernasek

Attorney Tim Bernasek is a partner at Dunn Carney Allen Higgins & Tongue and chairs the firm’s Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Team.  His practice is focused on employment, real estate and business law.  Tim helped develop the Farm Employers Education and Legal Defense Service (FEELDS) with the Oregon Farm Bureau, serves as the provider attorney representing members on farm labor cases, and serves as General Counsel for the Oregon Farm Bureau Federation.

-Association leadership will offer their perspectives and future action steps.

There will be time for Q&A. In order to prepare the most useful feedback, please submit your questions in advance via the registration form and indicate if the question is for ICE, USCIS, attorneys, or your association. We will disseminate note cards at the forum for additional questions.
